How CallBunker Users Opt In to SMS Verification
CallBunker LLC provides users with a choice of how to receive
their account verification code.
SMS consent is optional and is not required to create a
CallBunker account. The SMS consent checkbox is unchecked
by default. Users who actively select the checkbox receive
their one-time verification code by SMS. Users who do not
consent to SMS can receive their verification code through
an automated phone call instead.
STEP 1
Create a CallBunker Account
Users provide their personal mobile number during
CallBunker account registration.
STEP 2
SMS Consent Is Unchecked by Default
The SMS consent checkbox is separate and unchecked by
default. The user must actively select the checkbox to
consent to receiving a one-time SMS verification code.
Disclosure shown to the user:
“I agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code from
CallBunker at the number provided. Standard message and
data rates may apply.”
STEP 3
User Actively Selects SMS Verification
When the user chooses SMS verification, they actively
select the SMS consent checkbox before continuing.
STEP 4
SMS Verification
After providing SMS consent, CallBunker sends the
one-time verification code by text message.
ALTERNATIVE VERIFICATION METHOD
Users who do not consent to SMS can complete phone
verification through an automated voice call instead.
Declining SMS does not prevent account creation.
